    Mini tealight lanterns

The one good thing about our temperamental island climate is that when we do get a glimpse of summer, us Brits embrace it wholeheartedly. Recent stormy weather aside, the last few weeks have been so blissfully sunny and warm that i’ve been eating outside at every opportunity.

These colourful mini tealight holders from Nordic House (£4.95 each) are today’s One Perfect Thing because they are perfect for those long, lazy summer evenings spent gathered around a barbeque or chatting with friends over a glass of wine, soaking up every last drop of this deliciously warm weather. Even the names of the different colours put me in a summery mood… soft pink, summer orange and sand.
