    Home away from home

    Last week we did a feature on Holiday Hot-Spot Decorating Ideas and it got me thinking about how now, when I travel, wherever I go, all I want is a hotel room that looks either like my own home or how I want my home to look.
    Home away from home was never a truer goal.

    And if I had to pick a hotel style I most aspire to, none would surpass the Home Hotel (how appropriate) in Buenos Aires.

    So I implore you to dig out those holiday pictures and get inspired to change up a room this weekend. Even if it’s just framing one of those snaps and putting it in a prime spot, you’ll be glad of the reminder…

    Throw in the (beach) towel

    Well… we collectively blinked and summer is over.

    And while I apologise for being so bold as to point it out, I do so with an ulterior motive. That is, to point out that autumn, in all its autumnal glory, is moments away and with it comes the need for items like this…

    And that is not a bad thing.
    This glorious throw, by Eleanor Pritchard, is enough to make you say ‘So long, sun – I never liked you much anyway…’ in the tone of a huffy teenager getting over an ex who dumped them by text.

    So I urge you, for your own sanity, to put away the sun cream and reach for the hand cream, pack up the barbecue and pull out the slow cooker and throw in the beach towel and fully embrace the throw – it’s the perfect thing through which to muffle your sobs.
