I simply adore a bargain. And not the secret kind that fools people. I love to talk about my bargains. And tell people exactly how smart I am for spending so little on something so fab.
Which is why I made a pilgrimage to Hema this weekend, and it was well worth it…
In case you hadn’t heard, Hema is a Dutch chain of mini department stores stocking everything from clothing and make-up to homeware, stationery and kids stuff at really very reasonable prices. I first came across the chain in Amsterdam two years ago and I have longed for the day it would grace our shores ever since.
And unlike other foreign retailers, it brought its A-game to the UK from the launch.
The UK shops are small, so while the website is packed with great stuff, the three local locations (London Victoria, Bromley & Kingston) are only an edit of the whole collection, focusing mainly on homeware and stationery – good for me as those are two of my passions. So as you can imagine, I bought loads, including…
…disposable table linens, Christmas decs, stamps and ink pads, storage and crafty stickers, buttons and iron-on patches. And could have bought much much more.
Check out Hemashop.com/gb for their full UK collection and if you’re worried that what you want might not be in store, they offer delivery or an in-store click and collect service.Read more →
